Our Daily Acts of Worship sit at the heart of St. Cuthbert’s
Celebrations of the Word are vital in Catholic primary schools to anchor daily life in faith, fostering a personal relationship with God through scripture, prayer and song. They build community, teach Gospel values, nurture spiritual growth, and allow children to lead worship, making faith active and relevant.
Key reasons for the importance of Celebrations of The Word:
- Spiritual Development: They help children reflect on God’s presence, fostering a deeper, personal relationship with Christ.
- Living the Gospel: Celebrations of The Word help children to apply Gospel values and moral teachings to their daily lives.
- Community and Belonging: They bring the school community together to celebrate shared faith, often strengthening links with the parish.
- Liturgical Education: Children learn to participate in the Church’s liturgical year (e.g., Advent, Lent) and develop a greater understanding of Catholic traditions.
- Active Participation: Children are encouraged to plan and lead, building confidence in prayer and ownership of their faith.
- Reflection and Mission: They provide time for quiet reflection, enabling children to go forth with a mission to act on what they have learned.
Every day is special at St. Cuthbert’s and children enjoy a variety of experiences when taking part in Celebrations of the Word.
