School news and events will be communicated through a variety of methods. These include:
Arbor:
All schools in the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust use Arbor as their Management Information System. One of the features of this system is that it allows parents/carers to contact school with individual messages. Arbor is our preferred communication method. Messages sent through Arbor will be passed to the appropriate member of staff and they will contact you if required. Please remember, Arbor can only be checked periodically throughout the school day. As before, if your query is urgent, you must telephone the school office. Arbor is monitored during school working hours and is not available during weekends or holiday periods.
Class Dojo:
Teachers can communicate with parents via the class page or whole school story where general class messages can be shared.
Teachers will communicate through class dojo with a variety of information including:
- Individual classes uploading content and messages and letters relating to class events.
- Whole school letters will be uploaded onto the school story.
Facebook:
St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary, Grindon
https://www.facebook.com/StCuthbertsCatholicPrimaryGrindon
Facebook is a great way to keep parents/carers and wider family and friends updated and share some of the wonderful things that happen at St. Cuthbert’s. Our children never cease to amaze and astound us every day with their love of learning and boundless enthusiasm for life. Facebook is a great way to showcase this. and to communicate and celebrate school news, photos, videos and upcoming events.
Children’s names are not shared on our Facebook account although the year group may be identified.
Parent/Carer Permission is required for children to appear on both Class Dojo and Facebook.
- More serious issues should be discussed by contacting the school office to arrange an appointment/telephone conversation with the appropriate member of staff.
- ALL absences must be reported to the school office by telephone call. This is a safeguarding issue and we must ensure that any communication regarding absence is recorded by the school office.
- ALL medical appointments must be reported to the school office.
